So we got a twin bed off craigslist in anticipation of Ginny's arrival, and weren't planning on switching RW over to it until a little later. However, he had ideas of his own. He started taking forever to fall asleep in his crib at naptime, so we would try laying down on the twin with him to get him to settle down. He would fall asleep and look so cozy we just left him there. So it became the new norm for him to take nas on his twin, and he actually sleeps longer.
We were nervous, even with the bed rail, to put him in it at night because if he were to wake up and try and get out of bed how would we know? He is a little short to be able to climb on and off without help still, but luckily he never tries to get out. Well recently RW also started taking forever to fall asleep at night in his crib and so we thought why not just try it for a night and see what happens. Well he does great. He doesn't stand at the rail when he wakes up, he just sits there, He sleeps longer and seems to be more comfortable, and he just looks so darn cute!
So yay for RW graduating from crib to big boy bed all on his own!

That is great! We put Beth in a toddler bed around 15 months and I was SO worried! She quickly learned to get in and out, and like RW, she sleeps so much better there! It's such a relief with babies coming this summer for both of us! I love the name Ginny by the way!
ReplyDeleteYay for little Rich! Hey I saw your comment on my blog this morning about the baby bjorn cover. I'm not totally sure how much fabric you'd need for it, but I think 1/2 a yard would work. I bought 2 yards of fabric for two projects, so I've cut into it and I'm not sure how much I used, but it wasn't very much. To be on the safe side a yard will be plenty or even 3/4 of a yard. Post pictures if you do make a cover, I love seeing other people's projects!
