a camping we did go

So Rich's job situation went down hill, and in the end he felt the best thing to was to quit and find a new job. However the timing was not ideal in the sense that the job he was looking at would not let him take tim off for the first 80 days. This wouldn't work for us since his family's reunion trip was going to happen in about two weeks. The hiring manager he talked to told him to just give them a call when he got back and he could finish the interview process then.

We ended up having an extra week before the family reunion, so we decided we would go on a week long family camping trip. Planning was a little crazy since we were really planning for two seperate trips. I am probably on of few people who has brought a crockpot while camping in a tent.

We ended up staying at a free campsite next to the Hayspur Fish Hatchery off of highway 20. It was a really nice little camping area, and if you like fishing there's lots of it. Rich made sure to have his fishing stuff, and that most of wat he did that week. I was just happy to have some time where I could sit back and relax. The first day we were there setting up was super windy and it was the coldest night. We all survived beautuifully though and the rest of the week was warm and mostly enjoyable. I say mostly because there were A LOT of mosquitos.

The kids had fun playing in the dirt, Rich caught a fish, and we ate it for lunch, and we all got a little bit of sun.

We packed up monday morning and finished the drive out to Island Park to see the Fowlers.
