I think I can, I think I can. I thought I could! I thought I could!

So as I mentioned in a previous post, I run and bike with some friends in the morning. Today I woke up saw the sun shining through my window and said "dang, I missed it!" The sun is not usually shining when I wake up. I was bummed. Having said that you would have though we were bike riding that day, but alas we were not. I was actually looking forward to the run. Wednesday we had gone and I ran the most I have ever run in one morning for as long as I can remember.

I got Rich's permission to head out on a run anyway by myself, found an ipod to keep me company, and told myself there was no reason to STOP running. This morning I did a 2.5 mile route, and only stopped once to stretch, and walked maybe 1/4-1/2 mile of it.

most exciting morning ever.

That seems kind of lame, but in my life its a little bit true haha. Our little running group is looking at doing a 5k in October, and a week ago I thought that was really far and impossible for my laziness to do. Today, I feel like it's achievable and am feeling a little more excited than necessary.

In other news it is 8:03 and RW is still sleeping. He even slept through Ginny's morning freakout. I think this is a record for him. lets see if he can stay sleeping through my shower.

My motivational message to my reader is:

If you are thinking about running, do it.

If you are unmotivated, find someone to go with you.

If you feel you can't go any further, keep going.

  1. I am not a runner but thanks for the inspiration to keep going even if I feel I can go no further.

  2. I'm thinking of doing that 5k, too. I hope to do it in 30 minutes. I'm so slow, but I'm doing it!
