a happy little life: Yellowstone

As I mentioned in an earlier post we got to spend some time in yellowstone, and more importantly we got to spend time with the Fowlers.

We got there Monday evening, and then spent tues-thurs seeing different sights in the park. We were staying all together at a house in Island park, so the trek in to the park took a fair amount of time each day. We saw the hot springs, the geysers and the falls. Not to mention various wildlife, especially buffalo, they were everywhere.

It was a fantastic time, and Ireally enjoyed being able to get to know and make memories with my newish family. IN the 3.5 years that Rich and I have been married we really haven't gotten to see his family a whole lot. We met some new nephews, that are pretty much the same age as Ginny, for the first time, and got to see how all of the other cousins have grown since we last saw them. It is amazing what time does to people.

We also got to spend time with Rich's Grandpa Lund, Aunt Anna, Aunt Claudia and Uncle Matt. I was really glad to have the opportunity to get to know them better since I am not sure how many more opportunities like that I will have. They are all down in the San Diego CA area, and I really don't know that we will make it down there very often. Aunt Anna was RW's best friend for the week, it was so fun to watch them play together. Claudia and Matt were also fun to watch with the kids especially the night that they all got their lightsabers from Grandpa Fowler. Matt and Claudia are downsyndrome, and I really think it was a great opportunity for all the grandkids to have the experience of spending time with some of our Heavenly Father's most precious children.

It was a fantastice week, and hard to say goodbye in the end. I am grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful second family. Hopefully it won't be too long until we are able to see some of them again.
